Water has seeped through the concrete and stained the wall a variety of gritty colors. The city's lousy attempt to seal the leak lead to more leaking, and more staining until someone realized why the water could not be stopped. Now celebrated as an "appearence of Jesus" many Chicagoans graffiti messages of love and hope around the stain, leave gifts, even money, lots of flowers.
