Heroes and Heroines

I am happy to present the first paintings of my new series 'Heroes and Heroines.

In this series I am taking modern day people and superimposing the identities of one of the romantic heroes or heroines of our conciousness.

I present them in moments before the great events of their lives for which they are glorified. Their identities are indicated by title and the moment in their story by the accompanying subtitle.

I choose my models based on some hint in their personality that seems to resonate with the figure I eventually paint them as.

Coming soon: Paris, Romeo, Joan of Arc, Romulus, The Libertine, Jezabelle and Alexander the Great.
