Holy Watermark

In a dirty viaduct under the Kennedy expressway in Chicago something extraodinary has happened. Water has seeped through the concrete and stained the wall a variety of gritty colors. The city's lousy attempt to seal the leak lead to more leaking, and more staining until someone realized why the water could not be stopped. Now celebrated as an "appearence of Jesus" many Chicagoans graffiti messages of love and hope around the stain, leave gifts, even money, lots of flowers.

I saw this scene riding the motorcycle with Massimo out the Appian Way which was the first road built out of Rome to the south and is still littered with ruins and sculpture of its historic past. You know the saying "All roads lead to Rome"... it came from the building of the Appian Way!
